New Vaccination Requirement


The State of California has passed a new law about the Tdap vaccine for school children.  For the 2011-12 school year only, all students entering 7th thru 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.  In following years it will only affect incoming 7th graders.  This requirement begins July 1, 2011 and applies to all public and private schools.  Students will need to show proof of receiving one dose of Tdap on or after their 10th birthday to enter school in the fall of 2011.  Please click here for more information from the California Department of Public Health.
