Southern Orange County Pediatric Associates is pleased to announce our new affiliation with Mission Hospital Affiliated Physicians (MHAP). MHAP is a local association of independent physicians, and is part of the St. Joseph Health System. To learn more about MHAP, please click here.
What does this mean for our patients?
SOCPA’s new relationship with MHAP means that we can welcome back our Blue Shield HMO patients and also our Cigna HMO patients with parents employed by Mission Hospital. (These patients were recently excluded from choosing our doctors due to health plan contract changes). As always, all SOCPA physicians are currently accepting new patients as well.
This new affiliation will not affect patients that have currently chosen Monarch Healthcare as their IPA group and we will continue our relationship with Monarch Healthcare. The addition of MHAP will simply provide more choices to our SOCPA families. HMO patients may select either Mission Hospital Affiliated Physicians OR Monarch Healthcare as their IPA Group with a SOCPA physician as their Primary Care Physician (PCP).
The staff at MHAP has been busy adding our physicians to their database and are making way for a smooth transition for those that would like to choose a SOCPA doctor as their child’s PCP. Our affiliation with MHAP became effective retroactively on July 1, 2013, however we are still waiting for health plan ID numbers which will allow for PCP changes. Once we have this information available we will notify our patients, and will also keep you updated via this website and our Facebook and Twitter pages.
We are excited to welcome our former patients back to SOCPA, in addition to new patients that would like to visit our practice! If you have questions regarding these changes, please email general questions to email@example.com or you may contact Melanie Jackson, our Practice Administrator, at (949) 770-6789 extension #622.
